Hello everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted. This is such a busy time of the year. I hope that everyone had a terrific holiday. For us, the Christmas celebration lasts for a few days. Three get-togethers down and one more to go! It is certainly nice to visit with family and see the eyes of the kids light up.
During this season of giving, I am reminded of the things that truly matter; the things that money can’t buy. Sure it is exciting to see decorated packages under the tree. But as the saying goes, it is not really about what is under the tree, but who’s around it. I feel blessed that I got to spend the holidays with my wife, kids, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and others. This time that we spend together is what truly matters to me. This time is the best gift of all.
As I reflect on this, I realize that it is this time that I should be grateful for all year round, not just at Christmas. After all, on your path to achieving your goals, it is important to stop and look around. Take in your surroundings and the people who are with you. Don’t just see them, but appreciate them. It is these surroundings and people who make the journey what it is. It is what makes the journey all worth it.
I am catching up on many things. Although this was quite a short post, I will be back to my regular posting very soon. In the meantime, check out some of the other posts here on Defeating Normal.
